Yellow Shell

The Yellow Shell is very variable, ranging from bright yellow forms to dark brown and they can also vary in sie too. It is fairly widespread in Warwickshire and is found in a variety of habitats from disused railway cuttings, meadows and wetlands to heathland, woodland rides and woodland clearings, prefering damper areas.

It is regularly encountered during the day and has one generation a year. It is on the wing from June to early September.
